The Unlikeliest of Scenarios – Alan Smith Might be The Savior
By: Nick | March 8th, 2007
Alan Smith may not be the World’s most skillful player – but you could never question his commitment. This aside though, I’m surely not alone in dreading the next few league games as it appears that United might have to rely on a player coming back from a broken leg whilst only having played a few minutes over the past six months. Gulp.
This truly twilight zone situation is upon us because of Henrik Larsson’s frustrating insistence on going home to Sweden (thanks for everything and thanks for nothing), paper tiger Louis Saha on the shelf yet again, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having his own date with the surgeon. Unbelievable!
The end result of all of this is that I (and surely others) am having major doubts about the final stretch of the season. What seemed all rosy after the Anfield raid – now looks like a big thorny bramble bush.

Henrik had already done us a huge favour by coming. The Man made a promise to his family and club to return by March 12th..and he should be applauded for keeping it.That’s called having dignity and Character.I don’t get why you can’t appreciate that.

I do respect his dedication to family and club – it’s just that the situation is less than ideal. What happens if United win nothing? Would our memory of Larsson be just a little bit tainted? It’s become more complicated than anyone would like.
