The Three Amigos? What?

By: Taylor Rockwell | April 22nd, 2009

An observant Daryl just sent me this from Mediawatch, and I must admit, I am totally floored. Let me get this straight, Park, Evra, and Tevez are best friends? Did anyone see that coming?

Mediawatch did raise an eyebrow when we read these quotes from Rio Ferdinand in January as he suggested that the unlikely trio of Patrice Evra, Ji-Sung Park and Carlos Tevez are inseperable…

“At United we’ve got Patrice Evra, Carlos Tevez and Ji-Sung Park and you couldn’t ask for three people to be closer. They are like triplets. They do everything together. Even shower together!

“I’m joking, but the rest of the players are always looking at them and wondering how they get on so well.

“Carlos is Argentinean and doesn’t speak English. Ji-Sung is South Korean and barely understands English. And Patrice is French and can only speak broken English.”

And then we saw this – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0CiS8xtmFo [embedded below] – and it turns out we haven’t been merked. Truly, truly mental.

Dear God. I had a strange feeling sitting over me when I saw that. Nothing’s quite right there. They’re like the 3 exchange students who’ve become friends by the process of elimination.

Also, is Park an 8 year old? That bloke is so fricking excitable. Best video ever.

Is it just me or does Evra have an American accent?

I can sort of get that hint of an accent from him!

You can clearly tell that Evra’s the leader of that pack, in my opinion anyway!

    Great laugh, that Evra.

“How do u say goodbye in Korean?”
    “Goodbye”

I love how Park tricked Evra into saying I’m an idiot, heh. And Tevez’s face when Park spoke Spanish. Did he say shit or something?

Some help please, Spanish /Korean speakers?

Miele, I think he said “Argentina is shit”… and then I think Tevez said, “Let em see it [your face] again.”

Evra’s face when he gets tricked is hilarious…

Evra asked Ji to pronounce “Goodbye” in Korean,
Ji then told Evra “나는 바보 입니다.” Which means
“I’m an idiot.” Albeit the hard pronounciation
Evra tries his best and gets it quite right,
Ji shaking his hands with evra then tells him, “It means I’m an idiot.” The Korean broadcasting staff and
Ji’s English tutor then confirms Evra that he was
    tricked.

This was a Korean broadcasting networks weekend show
    about Korean celebrities.

Thanks for the clarification, much appreciated! Languages are so fascinating, especially how Ju Sung can understand Spanish lol. I keep watching the clip, these 3 should get their own show on manutd.com.

*Lols at them mimicking Ji Sung’s fat lip*

Very strange for me to watch this video since I am a Korean (parents) born in South America that now lives in the U.S. So I understood the whole video perfectly from start to finish.
    A couple highlights (translated/interpreted):
    - When Park’s lip starts swelling (b/c of the popper) he says “Something always blows up when I’m with these guys”.
    - Park says “Argentino de mierda” which literally translated is Argentine of sh*t. Which is a Spanish curse word that could loosely be intepreted as “f*cking Argentine”.
    - Tevez’ interview basically states that the focus is on Ronaldo, Rooney, but that Park facilitates a lot of their success.
