In what could prove to be either sheer folly or sheer genius (we are talking about Eric Cantona after all…) – the great man himself has given his unqualified backing to United’s title persuit. Mind you, Cantona hasn’t always come across as the sanest individual (see the famous “sardine” quote as a prime example. Never mind the infamous kung fu kick.
Who’s to argue with the brilliant thespian/beach footballer? If we’d not bombed at the weekend, I might share his bravado – but it’s clearly waaay to early to make a confident statement about the Premiership. Did he miss Chelsea dismantle the mighty Wycombe Wanderers on Tuesday? That’s sarcasm by the way.
Jokes and myopia aside – there are fourteen challenges ahead, plus distractions in the FA Cup and Europe. There’s plenty of drama on the horizon, as we have yet to visit Anfield and the Bridge. Obviously as underdogs. These matches may prove crucial – provided all else goes well.
