The Dreaded ‘G’ Word Rears its Ugly Head Again
By: Nick | June 11th, 2007
As United fans take delight in a long Summer of mouth watering new player captures, while still enjoyably digesting the past title winning season — the divisive nature of the Glazer Family shows up yet again.
This time, it’s over the new nature of the club’s season ticket policy, specifically the divisive scheme of forcibly requiring all ticket holders for the 19 Premiership matches to purchase tickets for Cup matches too — even if its a Tuesday night Carling Cup match against Grimsby Town. No disrespect to Grimsby Town.
It seems somewhat unfair to me, and I am in no way affected by the plan. Some who are have bravely decided enough is enough, and have started a campaign to try to fight the injustice they feel. Best of luck to them.
But, it’s certain to be an uphill battle — as in my opinion, the divide between profit hungry ownership and loyal (fleeced?) supporter grows wider every day. Evidenced by the image below (rolls eyes).

Typical bitching from typical hypocritical and naive English football fans. I hate to break the news to United fans, but ticket prices have been on the rise for…well, forever now, and as long as they keep putting their butts in the seats, the prices are going to continue to rise. The fans have created the beast, they’ve fed the beast, and they’re going to continue feeding the beast…so they really have no right to complain about it at this point. If they’re really pissed about it, the solution is easy. Don’t go. Of course, they will go, and tickets will continue to rise as long as the demand is great.
