Reader Poll: Round of 16 Opponent

By: Taylor Rockwell | December 11th, 2008

So, we started this conversation yesterday, but I wanted to take it a step further and see what people were thinking about the upcoming draws for the Champions League Round of Sixteen. Taking into account that we can’t draw any English teams or Villarreal, the questions are: who do you want us to draw AND who do you think we will draw?

Who Do You Want United to Draw in the Round of 16?
( polls)

Who do You Think United Will Draw?
( surveys)

Fell free to post your reasoning in the comments section. As I stated previously, I 100% believe that we will be seeing King Franco FC in the next round, and I am absolutely fine with that. You?

Presumably you’ll want to avoid Jose at all costs.

Rob, go ahead and act like you all didn’t intentionally get 2nd so you wouldn’t have to worry about dealing with The Special One… I fear no Mourinho…

i can’t help but feel like villarreal intentionally came in second by losing to celtic. they don’t have to face barca or man u, so when they started their match, the number one finishers that they could face from the night before were liverpool, panathinaikos and roma, which looks much better than chelsea and inter who were second. also, real had a very good chance of finishing first and they would have been exempt from that too. if they did lose intentionally, that was a brilliant move bc they are probably in the best situation right now as far as the draw goes.

I enjoyed Stuart Hall’s take on it all: http://fistedaway.wordpress.com/2008/12/10/stuart-halls-world-of-zoos2-manchester-united/

I pray we get Real Madrid and finally, finally gives this team (and Fergie) some kicks up it’s ass. I want to see fire! I want Ruthless United back!
