Please Allow Me This Brief Aside

When you follow a team like United, it’s pretty easy to focus solely on the millionaires club – otherwise known as the Premiership. If you find yourself uttering the words “there’s no way that Carrick’s worth 18 million” – the club you support is in a pretty cozy position.
Not all fans are so lucky. I came across this heartfelt plea today from a Scarborough fan, whose passion for his club, no doubt, mirrors mine. It’s gut-wrenching stuff to be honest, and should not be lost on any fan.
When I was at University in Hull, my dorm booked a bus, and took the quick trip to Scarborough for some beers by the sea. It’s a nice little town. The thought of them losing their football club is a sadly depressing one. Certainly a cause that all football fans should rally behind.
