Michael Carrick Finally Gets His Due
By: Nick | April 12th, 2007
It’s hard to be classified as an unsung hero when you cost 18.6 million quid, but when you were United’s only Summer signing, and the season has been massively more impressive than last year – you could be seen as the catalyst for this. Of course the return of Scholes has been key, but it’s hard to deny Carrick’s true influence.
The hesitance to back Carrick to the fullest is largely the result of his style of play. Yes he’s not the most glamorous player, but he is the epitome of the ‘neat and tidy’ footballer, who makes everybody around him so much better.
I was as stunned as anybody when his first goal went in – who knew he could produce such a lovely finish. The second was simply sublime, not too bad for a midfielder hardly known for his scoring prowess. The plaudits for Carrick prove that Sir Alex is no mug (as we all should all be acutely aware of by now). Just never ever doubt a true genius.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking the other day, how much better Carrick makes those no talents, Rooney and Cristiano look. LOL
