Manchester United v. Fulham – Match Highlights
By: Taylor Rockwell | February 19th, 2009How do you think Rafa will spin a five point deficit? Will it be the fault of A) his owners, B) the money he doesn’t get to spend, C) Sir Alex Ferguson cheating, or D) the potential collapse of the Krispy Kreme donut industry distracting him from his managerial duties? I suppose that it doesn’t really matter, but I just felt the need to go out of my way to point out the now significant difference in points between United and Liverpool.
A superb showing from United yesterday, who looked the stronger side throughout the entirety of the match. An outstanding strike from Paul Scholes (and some outstanding keeping from Fulham’s Mark Schwarzer) put the home side ahead 12 minutes in, and they never looked back. Poacher goals from Berba and Rooney gave United a comfortable victory against The Cottagers.
The scoreline also means that Van der Sar (and his defense) kept yet another Premiership clean sheet, stretching his British record to 1,302 minutes (or 14 games) since conceding a top-flight goal. Thus, the Dutchman could set the European record this weekend against Blackburn. The record had previously been established at 1,390 minutes back in 1990 by Dany Verlinden, who was playing for Belgian outfit Club Brugge at the time.

Congratulations ManU for the 3rd consecutive EPL title. Even though I dislike ManU the utmost, I admit that ManU is by far the strongest team on earth. I think at least 2 titles will follow. Respect.
