fletcher was pretty fuckin awesome to be honest. that goal was the best he’ll ever score. he was everywhere and he ended up doing a shutdown job at rb after rafael came out. total football. it’s a 10 for me, it doesn’t have to be a world remembered performance to be a 10 in my book.

Hey Ryan, ratings are a little inflated but great to have you on the blog. Scott on the Republic of Mancunia had a post today comparing this season’s win against Everton’s to last, in which Slave scored the only goal. Do you think we’ve coped with Slave leaving pretty well? I think we have, the team seems to be playing better as a unit, minus some (*cough* Nani *cough*). Anyway do you think that’s a fair assessment?

Good to see Obertan, looking forward to seeing more of the young lad

Personally, I thought Carrick was rubbish again. The vast majority of his passes are either backwards or perpendicular to the play. He is slowly becoming a poor mans Pirlo.

I agree, colin, but its not just that anymore with carrick. His positioning is woeful. It’s not that he can’t link the defense to attack in midfield it’s that he refuses to. My friends and I spent a good 5 minutes watching carrick drift away from play leaving vidic or brown stranded forcing them to lauch a long ball or give it away. Watch the game again and youll see what I’m refering to.

I dunno, I think Carrick is alright. would you guys rather have ando in his place?

yes, there is no reason carrick should get a start over ando this weekend

Ando shows signs of probing runs forward and also so insightful through balls. Ando showing me potential and attacking intentions. Not to mention he isn’t afraid to show passion and throw in a good tackle.
Carrick, not so much lately.

Ryan, if Nani’s in the doghouse, who are our options. Giggsy and Obertan? Do you think we’ll have to buy in January, even though SAF is loath to do so?

1 – Correct, Giggs and Obertan are the two options we currently have
2 – I don’t think we’ll be buying in January. I believe, even if Nani is in the doghouse, Fergie will use him as we need him, but he will be having considerably less playing time. Then again, a temp benching could be exactly what he needs to get his act together, and he’ll come back better than ever and this whole mess will be put behind us.Posted from

Why in the hell haven’t we played Tosic more? He really hasn’t had much of a run out in the 1st team aside from some Carling Cup games. He plays really well for his national side, but doesn’t get a sniff for us. I’m not saying he’s as good as Obertan or Nani, but I’d like to see Fergie give him a go.

Haha, one should hope we can put Nani behind us. Shame, he’s so good in my FIFA 09 manager mode too…..

Joel, Tosic is still too small and hasn’t adapted fully to top flight play physically.
I think Nani was just serving an in-house suspension for talking to the press unprofessionally I expect him to start or dress.
I haven’t thought about Park in months, and honestly its been really really enjoyable.
I want Obertan to start as I am curious as to his fitness, and he’s one of those players that is fun to watch and you are aching to succeed.
While your lineup makes a lot of sense on paper, Ryan, I can see SAF pulling a headscratching lineup out of his ass. Something like:
Welbeck Giggs
Nani Anderson Gibson Valencia
Evra Vidic Evans R.DasilvaPosted from

Obertan, Park, Gibson, and Rafa will all start today.

I am thankful for football.

dude, to be honest, i don’t think you know anything about football.
explain to me how park has been shit… he has been injured!! and even when he plays, he doesnt score goals but he does just about everything else. same with rooney.
just bc a winger and a striker aren’t scoring goals doesnt mean that they are short of form. don’t simplify their roles; ronaldo spoiled you.
i miss taylor and wayne.

Park’s purpose is not to contribute goals, but to provide industry, running, tracking back, running, pace, and running.
Certainly not goals.
I always thoughts Park was a great wing partner for Ronaldo since he was basically the anti-Ronaldo.

I’m not really a big Park fan. He runs a lot and all, but we have better players who should get the start over him.
And I’m really excited for that 7 am kick off. yay west coast. And we better win if I’m getting up that early on a Saturday.p.s. Pratish. there is no need to be a douche when disagreeing with someone.

I don’t know where you guys got the idea that I am not a Park fan because he doesn’t score goals…but that’s not the reason at all. The main reason as I don’t see much positive influence beyond the running and all. Sometimes it feels like he gives the ball away wayyy too easily, and his crossing, comparatively, lacks that certain degree of threat.
Pratish – The point I was trying to make, is that United have so many better options, that in the important games, we see our other players more. Last year, especially in the CL, Park was paired up a lot to cover Ronaldo’s….track back issues I guess is the best word. With Ronaldo gone we can now try and play more play makers, seeing as the bulk of our wingers do, in fact, play in position and not a sudo winger/striker hybrid.
Colin – Park was the perfect compliment to Ronaldo. But like I said, with Ronaldo gone, we need to find players that will fill that void, not fill the void Ronaldo’s play-style made.
I honestly think Park is one of the biggest talking points for United supporters, because you can even see it here. You either love him or you’re just “meh” towards him.

I must admit that I don’t love Park, but I think, when used correctly, he can be an effective player.

I want to know what kind of black magic Giggs uses to stay young, because he is absolutely incredible. Rooney was excellent, but I think the ref was a bit of a penalty nut, particularly with the Portsmouth one. What did everyone think of the Failbot? I think today might mean that his nickname should be gotten rid of. thoughts?

Agree completely with the ‘Failbot’ comment. I used to think Foster was the future, but after his start to the season, and Kuszczak’s performance pretty much any time he plays, I feel much more confident when he’s in goal if Van der Sar is out.
The Pompey shot that hit the bar near the end looked like a save on the Match of the Day replays! Bit lucky, but still incredible.
