Heinze Wants to Be Let Go; But it Won’t Be To Liverpool

By: Nick | July 19th, 2007

heinze.jpgFew players have made the short trip to trade United red for Liverpool red, fewer still have done so directly. After weeks of Summer whispers — want away Gabriel Heinze officially won’t be added to the list. Good.

Wherever Heinze goes (or indeed if he does), I’ll be a tad rueful. Yes, he was appalling going forward once we’d witnessed Patrice Evra fly down the left, and yes he missed his second year after his nasty knee injury. But let’s not forget he was the fans Player of the Year in his debut season — a player that showed more passion and fight than any other.

My gut tells me he’ll be stuck until January. Or perhaps I’m just hungry.
