Heinze Denied Liverpool Move — Good Thing or Bad Thing?

By: Nick | August 21st, 2007

medium_heinze.jpgAlthough I’m inclined to believe that the news will mostly be greeted with indifference by the majority of United fans — Gabriel Heinze’s stubborn wish to become a member of the enemy has been turned down after all.

So what next for the not quite treacherous left back? Can he really wear the United shirt again? I personally can’t envision that myself, but stranger things have happened in football. Does the club even want him back?

Unless he miraculously displays an ability to play center forward, his time at Old Trafford will surely be over soon. But not before January. A sad end for all concerned.

He still might leave before August 31st. Lyon are very interested in him as cover for Cris, and I doubt United or OL will hold up negotiations. It’s just a matter of Heinze agreeing to a return to France, which he might not. But better France than watching his team play from the stands, right?

Let him rot in the reserves until January! Actually, get him off the payroll asap. Do you have a decent striker to offer in exchange? :)

We have Fred who wants to leave and who we want to get rid of, but then it wouldn’t be a simple swap. More like Heinze + cash or something.

Yeah, definitely sell him to some club in france (PSG). He needs to leave if he can’t be used to help the team. The money from him could be used to bolster the attack.
