how can you ban the clubs of the country that just won the world cup? that makes a lot of sense...all fans from every country are guilty. There were similar problems at Tottenham v Sevilla today, and let's not forget about Man Utd's situation with Lille...

Once again, a ban is the best thing, it's a means to an end. I'm tired of the daily "italian" tirades, it's getting old and tired.

I say don't ban them. The fans maybe, that's a start, but banning the clubs is just ridiculous.

I hate to generalize and say I hate Italian football... but, I couldn't watch either of the roma or ac milan games because it was too frustrating to watch them cheat... I mean play. At least Gilardino got a card for diving... unlike in the World Cup game against Australia (where we all know he should have been given one).

Yes, other teams dive and cheat, but why does it seem like the Italians do it more? Probably because they do...

Yes, ban Italian clubs already. Will this solve the problem..probably not. You would still have hooligans and diving posers on the pitch just a different nationality. I fully support the ban. Take Italy out of the equation and let's just see what happens.

There have also been some incidents in France recently during European events, such as PSG's UEFA cup match with Tel-Aviv, Feyenoord's visit to Nancy(which subsequently got Feyenoord kicked out of the UEFA cup), and more recently there was the incident during the Lille-MU clash.

I really think that Italy would benefit from European expulsion as England did when they had hooligan problems. It's harsh, but when the short term solutions aren't working, maybe Calcio needs something a little more severe to wake them up.

Well looking at the events that have transpired and some of the other leagues around the world this is not unique. Just look at what has happened in South America, or even the hooliganism that exists in other Euro leagues...

I think this is a problem that soccer as a whole has to deal with, internationally, and at the moment FIFA is not doing a very good job ensuring that violence is curbed. I think that the Itailian example is the last straw, as it is a league that is currently under scrutiny. Instead of blaming the Italian league, we should blame FIFA for the lack of support.
