Do You Want To See Gibson Go?
By: Wayne Farry | June 3rd, 2009
After doing my nightly reading of many footie sites I saw that over on RoM they have a great article about United putting Danny Simpson, Fraizer Campbell and Darron Gibson on the transfer list to raise some funds. This story originates from The Mirror, so because of this I’m unsure how much credibility to give it.
As is argued over at RoM, Danny Simpson hasn’t played much for Blackburn and Fraizer Campbell has been fairly unimpressive with Spurs. But Darron Gibson has been fairly impressive when he’s played with our first team this year. At the start of the season, I figured that Fergie held Gibson in too high a regard to put him on loan, I could be wrong but it makes sense.
Gibson has been fairly tidy this season; playing regularly in the FA Cup and featuring all throughout the League Cup campaign, even in the Final where he was very impressive. He seemed to cap off a good season on the Final day with a stunning goal against Hull at the KC Stadium. But if this is to be believed, he could be going. Curious, considering how well he’s played, slightly scary that we may have to sell fringe players just to finance some transfer activity. So, with all this in mind, I must ask…

I said Nay, but I guess it depends. If we sell him and the others to fund the transfer of someone like my main man crush (after Hargo) Mahamadou Diarra, I would be for it.

No way, but I don’t think we need to worry about that Ferguson almost never lets young players go once they start to break into the first team as successfully as Gibson has been. He’s said many times how talented he believes him to be. He’s the new Darren Fletcher.

Although his long shots are almost definitely better than Fletcher’s already…

No way, i think he’s doing amazing and his long shots an versatility is really growing, he’s a consistent player, better than some of those ones who are costing £12 million or more to buy !
