To be honest, Derby need it a touch more than United do.

For a second there I forgot that there was a second leg at Old Trafford. I pretty much began cursing at the team for a while. United will crush Derby back home, so I guess its not so bad.

The players didn’t look like they cared much.

50/50 balls weren’t being one, no-one was chasing down the ball, no pace in possession, no effort really… not even after the substitutions.

Lucky there is a second leg, and hopefully not before another big game in the league so all the big guns can come out (because the fringe players didn’t look like they deserved another go). Or maybe I’m being too harsh!

the boys knew they didnt really have to perform today since there is a return leg…i feel they cared more about just limiting the number of goals scored against us.

should ManYoo really have to limit the number of goals scored by Derby? we’re talking about the same Derby right? the ones who got relegated in absolutely spectacular fashion last season?

Steven, good to see you took time away from holding the DJ’s arms back while Stevie G beat him around the head to post on the blog…

There’s only one alternative left for United fans across the globe after this embarrassment. Blame John O’Shea. Which I do… regardless of what actually happened in the game.

Nobody likes watching United play poorly but I offer a bit of hope.

Take a look at the last two seasons in which United have won the league. Throughout both years United have had some TERRIBLE performances. Hell, Arsenal did the double over United in 06/07! Every time though United responded positively and built on the experience.

Who wouldn’t have loved to see United win the treble again last year? Losing to Portsmouth though in spurred United on to the finish line in the league.

Championships are built on how a team reacts to losing. There is no better time or opportunity to suck then right before a big match against Chelsea. It looks very good for United on Sunday.

United did suck but at the end of the day their energy needs to be put into sundays game with chelsea. That’s the match the match they need to kick ass in then give derby a spanking on the 2nd leg at home.
