Community Shield Raises the Pulse Ever So Slightly

By: Nick | August 6th, 2007

cs.jpgWhile United against Chelsea (or Chelsea against anybody for that matter) is unlikely to produce a showcase of Joga Bonito — at least we were mildly more entertained than we thought.

All in all, a decent performance by a not quite full strength side (Silvestre!), wile Evra actually looked quite capable as a left-sided midfielder. Nice assist for the goal.

Yes, the result means nothing — but winning an event at Wembley is always a good tonic. Especially against Jose Mourinho et al. We’ll always take that.

I’m especially delighted for Van der Sar. He hasn’t had himself the easiest past few months, but we’re reliant on his confidence.
