Chelsea or Manchester United? Both Sides of the Upcoming Battle.
By: Nick | May 14th, 2008Thanks to reader Preston (presumably a reader!) for sending me a link to two pieces from the New York Observer, in which a Chelsea and United fan attempt put forth their arguments for each club, ahead of the big meeting in Moscow.
One more successfully than the other, I must say.
Whereas the United perspective is pretty much spot on I think (especially the part about supporting the team your Dad did) — the Chelsea opinion is sadly as myopic as any of Arsene Wenger’s finer moments.
*Avram Grant accepts referee’s decisions with grace? Err, I don’t think so.
*Chelsea are the discerning fans choice? Our +19 goal difference might suggest otherwise.
*Their fans support them through thick and thin? Hmm…
The fact is, Chelsea will never match our history, support or stature.
Our 48 major honours, compared to their 17, speaks volumes.
But of course I’m biased.

Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion…

in the long run no manager likes every referee decision and there are bandwagon fans on every side. ultimately i feel arguing about either of those two points is kind of trivial. most anything else is fair game though.
