Champions League Draw/Ball-Fest Leads to This…
By: Nick | August 30th, 2007Just finished watching (or rather fast forwarding through) the somewhat ridiculous pomp and ceremony of the UEFA Champions League group stage draw — jeez, the powers that be in football don’t half take themselves a bit too seriously at times.
First, the dramatic (sic) wait to determine which group United will feature in (it’s Group F by the way).
Then we eventually learned the all important opponents:
*AS Roma — Probably not the first choice of the Rome or Manchester police…
*Sporting Clube de Portugal — A blast from the past for Ronaldo and Nani…
*FC Dynamo Kyiv — A long trip for United’s traveling faithful. Pack the cold weather clothes lads.
All in all not too bad I suppose. I reckon it’s a slightly easier prospect than Liverpool and Chelsea’s fate, but I’ve little doubt that Arsenal got the plum group.

It seems that ghosts have returned to ROME.

Of all the English teams Arsenal got the easiest.Posted from

The Roma ties should be awesome, Herbert Fandel is not longer refereeing and Totti & Co probably have yet to forget the Old Trafford annihilation from last year. Also, I agree, the riot police in Rome are probably already gearing up.
