An Absolute Disgrace/What’s Going On?
By: Wayne Farry | March 21st, 2009
Very short. We lost 2-0 to Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Scholes sent off for deliberate handball, Danny Murphy scored from the penalty. Berbatov had probably his worse match ever for us, the kind of display that makes you think he’s not worth €1, never mind €30M.
Ronaldo was awful, some typical petulance towards officials and the type of display that reaffirms the notion that Messi is undeniably the best player in the world.
Rooney came on in the second half, made a real difference. Made chances and United should have scored two, Ronaldo missed a free header and Park had a great chance saved, as did Rooney. Schwarzer had a great game.
United showed fight but no bite in the second half. Then Zoltan Gera scored in the dying minutes after United brought O’Shea off for Tevez, leaving us with three at the back. Rooney had got booked for a cynical foul on Dacourt in the middle of the second half and then got his second yellow for throwing away the ball.
Finished 2-0 to Fulham. United finish with nine men.
Disgraceful. These pieces of shit are earning 100 times more than they deserve; no effort, fuck all heart, seemingly no pride in the badge.
These guys better buck themselves up if they want to win this title because at the moment they don’t deserve it.

So true… this is probably the I’ve seen United play in over a decade….

what is the deal with these players.. do they not understand what was at stake… Giggs was so bad… no inspiration…When they got the first booking I thought that might spurr them on… but no… all everyone was interested in was crying foul… Ronaldo… don’t even get me started… he thinks he’s so much better than everyone else on this planet… and that he doesn’t deserve to be here….
Chelsea lost too… we could’ve wrapped it this weekPosted from

I’m not even sure they knew they were playing in a official game. Mind blowingly bad. Worst of all it gives the bin dippers more motivation. I’m bummed.

Danny Murphy = Legend.

I’m kind of new to following football, but this is the second time I’ve seen Scholes get ejected for a stupid hand-ball (the first time was in the Super Cup against Zenit). Does he think he can get away with it, or does he have a problem controlling his arm or something?

With regards to Scholes’ handball, Giggs said it after the match, it was purely instinctive. I don’t think you’ll ever see the end of deliberate handballs.
When people see the ball at their face they put their hands up. It’s still very little excuse for an incredibly experienced player.

I don’t want to gloat but are there any Man U fans willing to admit that Rooney deserved to be sent off?

this was like one of those comedy routines where all negative cultural stereotypes are portrayed except it was with man united players.
rooney being petulant
berba being lazy
ronaldo being whiney
scholes making a terribly rash decision (only a shitty tackle would be better)ugh

What worries me is that Ferguson usually has it so that Man United are just starting to reach their peak around this time of the season… but this year right now they are going from bad to worse. Ahh I’m so discouraged…

Well not to rub it in but this i what i like to see.I just wished Barca had drawn Man U.But take care Man U before Porto pull a repeat.

I’m less confident than before that we’ll get out of this slump but hopefully it is just that, a slump.
I’m praying we come back stronger…
PS. From a non-football point of view, Ireland just won the Grand Slam for the first time since 1948! Heals the United pain for me!!

Steven, I am United through and through and I will take anything u can dish out. I BELIEVE in this team and I do so without being obsessed with how Liverpool are doing. Now move along and think about Chelsea or something, eh?
Clearly Rooney deserved to be sent off.The worrying thing is, he seemed that the only player who actually cared.
Please Fergie, soed the hairdryer even exist anymore? What the hell is going on at Carrington?
The only silver lining is the rumour that Hargreaves is back in training. God I hope the curly haired one is back, our midfield is shit at the moment.

I agree .. the most painful part of it was to see that none of the players cared about how the team was playing.. not even Giggs was looking to raise the game .. the commentators made a remark about how Keane would have taken the initiative and made everyone realize the importance of all this esp Ronaldo… I miss someone like him in there
