A reunion (vs Juventus)

neville teamIt was great to see Becks, Butt and Phil putting on that jersey again. It felt like they never left.

Becks looked like he’s still got it. His delivery was exceptional all night long and his hustle for the 90 minutes reminded everyone why we loved him and how like Giggsy, he’s expanded his game to extend his playing career.

On the flip side, is there any hope for Bebe and Obertan? Even in a testimonial with Juventus playing at a much slower pace, the duo looked confused and never brought anything to the game. In fact, it was Bebe’s introduction as our sole forward in the 2nd that saw our hope of winning the game disappear. We never looked like scoring after Owen was taken off although the former England forward was guilty of wasting numerous chances himself.

nevilleUltimately, it was a superb goal that proved to be the winner on a night when the result was always going to be secondary to the celebratory and festive nature of the occasion.

All props to Red Nev, the liviing legend.

Now may I rudely (sic) request a Final Preview? No more fingernails left from the waiting. Thank you so much!

  • I think that out of that old class, the best player for me seems to be the oldest one. Ryan Giggs, he may have slowed down but my word he is still so skillful. while hes adapted his ability to pass the ball so well.

Brilliant send off there by Man U, I wish our club were better at it. Respect Fergie for playing Giggs and Rooney few days before the CL final.
