Sheps, a fair point… but I feel like it still lends credence to my overall argument. I believe that those are the antics that he was permitted to get away with at White Heart Lane. Look at how Tottenham tanked it after their Carling Cup win last season? His team didn’t seem to care, so neither did he.

As Wayne noted, give Ferguson a few weeks and we’ll see what happens. That said, the only doubt I’ve ever had about the signing is that I truly believe Manucho will be a revelation, and Berba’s signing will cut his minutes significantly.

He´s either not match fit or one hell of a moping/lazy player. I always thought the latter when he was at Spurs. But then again Spurs fans rage about him. So he must have some decent attributes. He needs time to settle in. Rooney is more the problem, as I alluded to here:

Good point, well made! Berba was wasting for a while at Spurs and to expect him to have an immediate impact is ridiculous. Within a few weeks he’ll be playing the sort of football that urged Sir Alex to get him in the first place.

I don’t doubt Berbatov’s skill or ability.

I was always against the signing for the exact reason why his performance against Chelsea was so absymal.

The guy is lazy as hell. We were playing a drinking game – drink every time this or that happens. We had to make the punishment for seeing Berbatov run a whole drink because otherwise there was no point having it there!

He just mopes around like an arrogant little turd, not marking players, not being in the right place… he’ll realise he has to be at place A on the pitch so he’ll start to walk over. When he gets there, he’s actually needed back where he started so he strolls back. And then he’s needed back where he just was again…

It’s hopeless. Fergie needs to get involved and get some boots flying through the air towards that ridiculous hair style.
