01/16/2009: Taylor Dies A Little Inside
By: Taylor Rockwell | January 16th, 2009You know how they sang every time ________ happens, an angel gets its wings? Well today my car wouldn’t start and it was nine degrees outside while I struggled to get it jumped. And that was when I knew that something terrible had happened. Indeed, such is the case. The official United website is reporting that Manucho has been loaned to Hull City for the duration of the season.
“Manucho needs experience, and he needs games at a good level,” said Ferguson, who appears a tad bit overconfident in the current state of his strikeforce. “We’re confident in the progress of [Danny] Welbeck and the young boy [Federico] Macheda, who is doing exceptionally well in the youth team and Reserves. He’s a big lad now, he’s doing fantastically well. We also have the option of playing Ronaldo as a striker, too. So we’re well covered in that department.”
Remember when we were “covered” in 2006/2007? Remember how that meant playing a one-legged Solskjaer and Alan Smith up top? Remember how scary a proposition that was near the end of the season? Sigh…

Slave holds Manucho, if only to feel what it’s like to be transferred away from Old Trafford
Regardless, I suppose my man-crush must now be put on hold, as it’s clear that perhaps Fergie isn’t too taken with the big Angolan. To have only figured in three matches and to know fall behind two youth team players must indicate that Manucho could be going the way of Dong. And yet, I will remain a fervent supporter until he winds up in the Belgian Premier League. But until then, MANUCHO IN THE 2009/2010 CAMPAIGN!!! WE CAN’T LOSE!!!!
