01/16/2009 Part Two: Taylor Mildly Recovers…
By: Taylor Rockwell | January 16th, 2009Despite the crushing news of Manucho’s loan, reports from Spain are providing me the opportunity to continue living. Soccernet.com is reporting that King Franco FC President Ramon “I’m A Colossal Failure” Calderon has resigned from his post as President of the Madrid based club.
According to the site, “It was reported on Thursday that Calderon would quit the club following allegations he rigged the vote at the general assembly so that key issues fell in favour of the current regime.” No doubt the quadruple-chinned jackass will remain in his current position, but I like to think that had he been able to outwit/outlast Ferguson and Gill, this would all never have been an issue. It’s a lot easier to keep your grip on club power when you can point out that you signed the world’s greatest player in the summer transfer window.
But, hey, at least he was able to sign Wesley Sneijder’s awesome knee and a man with a set of teeth only slightly less busted than Tevez’s!
What are the odds that Calderon’s press conference goes something like this: “I would like to address the allegations against me, but I would ACTUALLY rather discuss how we have already signed Cristiano Ronaldo to a lifetime contract. We have also signed Messi, Kaka, and Eric Cantona from 1996. Any questions?”

I find your comments on Calderon to be so utterly distasteful.

Such is life… I wish I could please everyone with everything I write, but my “style” (if being wildly offensive is a style) is always going to offend some… that said, do you really expect me to feel sorry for the man that went out of his way to do everything possible to ruin United? Nope…

If loosing one player ruins a team, that team is built on a house of cards.

corey dude i know you love madrid…but really, man? you can’t honestly be happy with how that guy handled the ronaldo thing…without a leg to stand on (as a club, recently, especially in the cl lately) he starts barking about how much better they are than us, allegedly doing backroom deals w/ cron, and acting, in general, like an arrogant buffoon. you’ll welcome the change when a classy guy is back in charge of your club. and the cl/prem champs are built on a house of cards. haha..right.

It’s not just losing Ronaldo, it’s everything that’s been impacted by the transfer saga. As I’ve written before, I find it difficult to enjoy any of CRon’s performances this season because I don’t trust him… that doubt was sewn by Calderon. He’s made the training ground and locker room at United a tense/unsettled place, and he’s publicly condemned Ferguson numerous times… It just seems like there are two teams that want to be known as the biggest club on the planet and (granted, United have done some shady things as well) it seems that Ramon will/has tried to do anything to knock United… I don’t like the man, his tactics, or all of the things he is accused of… and for that, I will mock him and call him fat…

What does this mean for Ronnie’s agreement with Calderon? Does it mean that Ronaldo will now, instead of going to Madrid, go to Calderon instead? Become his cabana boy, just mowing lawns and washing dishes?
