Tevez Is Going, But How Do You Feel About?
By: Wayne Farry | May 11th, 2009
After trawling the internet for football news, as I usually do, today I noticed that more so than usual there appears to be lots of news about Carlos Tevez. And every site appears have no doubt that there’s one place the plucky Argentine won’t be come next August; Old Trafford, possibly still Manchester but definitely not Old Trafford. It’s a strange situation, but I feel quite strongly about it.
Of course, it’s sad to see such an enthusiastic player leave but in my opinion he really hasn’t contributed enough this term. He was fantastic last year, providing vital goals and lots of assists. There was a product to his vitality and energy. From this start of this season though, he appeared affected by the signing of Berbatov. It was as if he had become resigned to his departure before even attempting to prove himself.
Some have said that he hasn’t been given the opportunity to prove himself but I think that that is just a popular myth. Tevez has featured in forty-eight games this season, as many as he featured in the whole of last season. Sure, he hasn’t started as many as last year but he’s had his chances to stake his claim. He’s had some explosive moments throughout the season; scoring four against Blackburn in the Carling Cup being one of them. But these have been few and far between. A player who is playing for his new contract must deliver more than this but Tevez hasn’t, emphasized by the fact that United haven’t made an offer for him. Due this he to He has stated that he will leave at the end of the season as he “doesn’t feel part of the family”.
Ferguson has stayed quite coy on the subject, simply dropping innocuous comments here and there. If I had to take a guess, I’d say he feels that the Argentine has done all he can at United and is more than happy to let him go.
From what I’ve read, his preferred move would be to stay in England. There are many teams in the queue for Carlitos. Some mentioned included City, Arsenal, ‘Pool, Chelsea and Everton. Aside from thee teams, Inter, Real Madrid and Barca are also sure to be interested.
So really, as sad as I’d be to see him go, I think we’re better off without him. For €30M or whatever Kia Joorabchian wants, we could buy a better player, who can score more goals and who wouldn’t be influenced by some shadow corporation. So I don’t mind seeing him leave, but do you? Vote away…

Don’t judge us that harshly Ramzi. You don’t have to leave as soon as you mention Barcelona!
But I think you’re right, Tevez would suit Barca’s system perfectly.

i sort of like tevez, and so i would rather him play for a team that i dont despise with every fiber in my body. i think that if barca dont make a move for him he will probably just move to inter milan, and i hate them second most,
if manU needs a striker than do everybody a favor and take ibra out of italy, he’ll fit in well with rooney and ronaldo’s arrogant club.Posted from

Always nice to have you’re impartial view here Weston..

i’m one of those in favor of not spending 30 million on him, although he is a world class player, he’s just not in the right situation for us or him. i think he would thrive at an energetic club like barca or arsenal. i would hate to see him go to liverpool or city after praising our fans so often. can’t see him going to everton bc i don’t think they could offer the money and carlitos seems too ambitious to not go to a champions league-bound club. i just hope he doesn’t get too comfortable with the fans’ love to the point that he goes to one of our two main rivals and expect us to understand.

Yeah, I agree SP. I personally wouldn’t be happy if he went to City or Liverpool.
Wouldn’t mind seeing him go to Chelsea, which I think is a distinct possibility.

fine, i can give it to you that ronaldo is arrogant, but you think rooney is arrogant too?

I wonder what will happen to the three amigos (Tevez, Park and Evra).

I’m not sure, but I’d imagine that Evra and Park would just cease to exist.

Personally I’m gutted, but at the same time if he was a true red devil he wouldn’t be making comments like this to the press.

Wayne… well done… you beat me to this one by about an hour… nice skills… As I believe we’ve discussed before, you and I have different views on what Tevez is worth to United. At least we did until this weekend.
I much prefer a hungry Tevez to a hungry Berbatov any day of the week. However, while I understand his frustration, his actions this weekend went a bit too far. Fergie has a long history of “excusing” players from the roster when they get a touch too open about their beliefs/feelings (see: Keane, Ruud, Becks).
So, when Tevez makes a spectacle of himself this weekend, and then keeps bemoaning the United organization in public, I think he’s got to be finished at the club.
The issue for me is what happens for the remainder of the season. Does he play at all? How much will we need him? Could end up being a pretty huge problem.

Haha, sorry dude. Guess I’m just a bit too quick (makes cool face).
Honestly I think that we should get what we can out of him while he’s still our player. Being the type of person that he is I’d say he’d wanna go out with a bang.

No, Wayne. Taylor is right. Man utd must not use Tevez in the CL final…

I see him at Liverpool. He is the PERFECT partner for Torres up front… Question is will United fans still respect him then…

momoney- my answer is no and if he goes there then fuck him. go ANYWHERE else. he knows that as well, he’s not an idiot. i dont think he’d go there.
as far as taylor being wrong about berba AGAIN..for what it’s worth berba has the highest actim rating (whatever that is i saw it on the premier league website)…he’s got the most assists on the team, he’s perfect for our team and will be even better next year when he gets a full offseason with us.
as for tevez i don’t want him to leave and i understand fergie’s resistance to trot him out with the other 3…i dont see why it was sufficient for nani to be out there sometimes instead. can’t he just run out the 4 of them…if that wasn’t a question i don’t think he’d be leaving.

I honestly think that letting Carlitos go would be a mistake. Ok, so he didn’t have as productive a season as he did last time round, but then again, neither did Ronaldo, or any of our other players for that matter, but his passion and dedication remain unquestionable. I think we should keep him because he is extremely useful in big games, where he presses the opposition and never stops running. And, imagine if Rooney were to get a season long injury early into next season, we would really regret letting him go then. Then again, if u were to ask me if I would spend £30 mil on signin tevez, or on 2 new players, (Ribery + holding midfielder perhaps), I’d go for the 2nd option… Hmmm hmmmmm. Quite confused now.. Lol

I like Tevez…he is one of the greatest players in MU…why Sir Alex doesn’t give him more chances? I’m sure Tevez will bring more trophies to the Old Trafford…but if Tevez still want to leave, who will substitute him?…

God who is this Ramzi kid?!?!? man you make no sense. Tevez must be played in Champions league final…tevez rooney and ronaldo. Barca’s attack begins in defence. From Ineista to Xavi and then back to the defensive line is how they work it. If Tevez and Rooney are starting this can be eliminated from the off through constant pressure on the back four and the not allowing any space. Park will also provide this intensity.
I think Tevez was well entitled to show his attitude through celebration at the city game. What does he have to do to stay??? I mean does anyone here think that €30 million on Berba was a great deal?? his attitude is deplorable….tevez will give everything… Look at Ronaldo’s reaction on sunday!!…disgraceful…why cant tevez show some disbelief at not getting a run?…i hope he stays i think the 4 strikers are all needed…

how is berba’s attitude deplorable? because he’s the smoothest player on his team? because he doesn’t have to run 10000k a match to have an amazing effect on it? because he makes it look to easy?
i don’t understand the berba hate. people do play different styles you know.

feel very sad if ever sir alex let him go, but the decision is not yet taken. The place of Tevez is in manchester united not liverpool. But if ever he went he will always remain in our heart.
Good luck and may God Sir Alex do make the best Desicion

May be Man Utd system doesnt suit Tevez attributes, I dont know. Or its just the fact that Sir Alex feels the presence of a target man in the box is Vital and rooney is irreplaceable. i think thaT tevez has been tret like dirt if u want to keep a player then you respect them caRLOS TEVES SHOULD BE TRET A LOT BETTER THEN HE WAS AND IM A TRUE MANCHESTER UNITED
